This Privacy Policy describes how Quips ("we", "our", or "us") handles your information when you use the Quips iOS app and its iMessage extension (collectively, the "Service").

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your profile, sounds, and associated data from our servers.

We use Firebase's encryption-at-rest and encryption-in-transit for stored and transmitted data. While no system is 100% secure, we follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.

User-Generated Content & Reporting

Quips lets users upload audio clips ("quips") and view content uploaded by other users. We rely on our community to flag content that violates our policies.

DMCA Safe Harbor (Copyright)

Quips complies with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). If you believe content uploaded to Quips infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to our designated agent.

Submit a takedown notice to: dmca@quipsapp.net (or use the in-app Report → Copyright / DMCA option).

A valid notice must include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material to be removed (the quip title and a link or screenshot).
  4. Your contact information (email, phone, address).
  5. A statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Counter-notice: If your content was removed and you believe in good faith it was a mistake, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address with corresponding information per 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).

Repeat infringers: Accounts with multiple substantiated infringement claims will be permanently terminated.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted in the app and on this page with an updated date.
